DAIDUNG CORPORATION RECEIVED THE INTERNAIONAL EDP

Achieving the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification highlights that DaiDung Corporation’s (DDC) products meet stringent sustainability and eco-friendliness criteria. This achievement is a key milestone in DDC’s strategic goals: Excellent Growth – Excellent Team – Excellent Governance – Excellent Service and Quality Sustainable Development. These objectives contribute to developing a prosperous and resilient Vietnam, support the mission of “Proudly bringing Vietnam to the World,” and target a revenue of USD 1 billion by 2030. Notably, the Group has achieved dual EPD certifications for both DDC and DDC Central.

The products are evaluated with an EPD

The EPD provides transparent public information on the production process and environmental impact of a product or service throughout its lifecycle, based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) reports. The declaration adheres to the strict standards issued by EPD International and is verified by an independent third party to ensure objectivity. Once approved, it is published on the EPD International website. DDC’s EPD complies with EN 15804:2012+A2:2019/AC:2021 and ISO 14025:2006 standards, where EN 15804 serves as the PCR (Product Category Rules). From raw materials to recycling, all lifecycle stages are evaluated for environmental impact, ensuring transparent information in the EPD.

With EPD certification, DDC demonstrates positive results in selecting eco-friendly materials, focusing on recyclability, and minimizing the emission of hazardous substances and pollutants during production. The company has adopted energy-efficient technologies and processes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental impacts. Furthermore, DDC showcases its supply chain management capability, establishing a network of suppliers who meet environmental standards, while its products adhere to international quality standards specific to each region.

The process of data review and evaluation is carried out thoroughly

Two major regulatory frameworks drive the creation of EPDs: the Construction Product Regulation (CPR) in Europe and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in the United States, both of which aim to reduce the environmental impact of construction projects. This regulation intends to bring more sustainable products to the European market.

After achieving EPD certification, DDC is committed to maintaining compliance and meeting all reported requirements. Moving forward, DDC will build a roadmap for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the use of renewable or green energy, and focusing on sustainable values. The quality management system will continue to be upgraded to enhance product value and meet customer demands.

At DDC, the EPD serves as a foundation for identifying, evaluating, and managing environmental factors associated with its products. It’s a core value that raises awareness of environmental impact reduction, paving the way for improved production technology and product enhancement to limit greenhouse gas emissions. Simultaneously, EPD has become a vital criterion for DDC in selecting suppliers, aiming to establish an international-standard supply chain that meets CBAM standards. This progress lays the groundwork for DDC to expand its reach into the European market and affirm its brand position in the region.
