Results of the “For a Green Future” Selection Highlighting DDC’s Efforts in the Green Transition of the Steel Structure Industry
The participation of DaiDung Corporation (DDC) in this selection comes amid numerous policies aimed at promoting cleaner industrial production and limiting emissions being implemented in various countries and regions. For instance, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) applied in EU countries aims to prevent “carbon leakage” by exploiting less stringent regulations outside Europe and allowing carbon taxes on all imported goods into the EU based on the greenhouse gas emission intensity during the production process in the country of origin. Steel and steel products are classified among the highest risk for carbon leakage.
Simultaneously, the trend of sourcing steel structures for carbon-neutral projects has been placing enterprises in this sector in a position to proactively restructure their facilities and systems and change production technologies to meet market demands and increase competitiveness.
An Ha Factory of DDC Achieving LEED Gold Certification
With the business philosophy of “Every action towards sustainable development,” DDC has continuously upgraded its supply chain to meet increasingly stringent customer requirements. These requirements include emission reduction, minimizing environmental impact, resource conservation, and using renewable energy. For example, DDC has completed the An Ha factory according to LEED Gold standards and continues to build other factories to this standard. Therefore, DDC has been and continues to be a trusted partner for projects pursuing carbon neutrality, contributing to greening construction activities domestically and internationally.
