DaiDung Group has successfully launched and handed over all the super-sized, super-heavy components of the Shiplift System project, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to the schedule. These components are being exported to Florida, USA, where they will be used to assemble the world’s leading large naval ship lift system, incorporating the most advanced technologies.
DaiDung Group has successfully launched the super-sized, super-heavy components for the world’s largest naval ship lift system project in the United States.
Sharing information about the project, Mr. Vuong Quang Thai, the Business and Project Director of DaiDung Group, said, “The launch event marks a very significant milestone for the project. The super-sized, super-heavy steel components produced by DaiDung Group have passed stringent quality tests conducted by an independent European inspection unit. Moreover, we have completed the project safely, ensuring the highest quality and even ahead of the required timeline,” Mr. Thai shared.
It is known that this world’s largest ship lift system has a length of up to 150 meters, a width of 34 meters, and a total weight of nearly 8,000 tons. The lift platform has a load capacity of 25,000 tons. This super-sized, super-heavy project requires highly advanced technical design, procurement, manufacturing, and assembly, meeting extremely stringent international standards with absolute compliance. This also means that the selection of DaiDung Group by Europe’s largest defense contractor, BAE Systems, as the supplier highlights DaiDung’s deep expertise in technology, quality, and meeting deadlines.
The BAE Systems delegation visited the An Ha factory of DaiDung Group.
“I came here to work in January 2024 and was very impressed with the equipment system as well as the professionalism of the staff. Especially, we received a quotation with the most optimal cost. This is one of the largest projects in the world, very important for the state of Florida, USA,” said a representative from BAE Systems, explaining why they chose DaiDung Group for this important project.
Throughout the project implementation process, with meticulous supervision and strict requirements, representatives from BAE Systems highly praised the project management, core capabilities, and what DaiDung Group has been able to accomplish. At the keel-laying event of the project, Mr. Timothy Spratto, Vice President of BAE Systems and Project Director, stated that the project had been completed after both parties made great efforts to overcome many challenges, with issues being resolved flexibly. BAE Systems also shared with the DaiDung team information about upcoming projects. “I am truly impressed by DaiDung’s ability to handle heavy steel, their technical skills, and project management capabilities at their factories. The modern facilities, safe working environment, and adherence to schedule were exceptional. I am also impressed by the work efficiency and admire DaiDung’s capabilities. Here, there are world-class facilities,” Mr. Timothy commented.
Alongside the Shiplift System project, DaiDung Group has also been selected to fabricate and manufacture suction buckets for the offshore wind farm project in Taiwan. This is the largest offshore wind farm in the Asia-Pacific region. Each component has a diameter of 14 meters, a height of 16 meters, and weighs up to 350 tons.
The components are leaving An Ha factory to be transported to the port.
DaiDung Group evaluates the market prospects for the demand for oversized and super-heavy components as positive, given that countries worldwide are implementing strategies to upgrade and develop new infrastructure to support economic growth and national security.
“With a clear vision and strategy for sustainable development in supplying oversized and super-heavy components, DaiDung Group is taking specific plans and actions to enhance its capacity and infrastructure, ready to provide products and services to both international and domestic markets. The most concrete proof of this is DaiDung Group’s successful execution of the offshore wind power project for export and the Shiplift System project for leading global clients. This demonstrates the company’s core capabilities and its potential to go further in this product sector,” Mr. Thai said.
