T3 – TAN SON NHAT AIRPORT: RAPID PROGRESS TOWARDS APRIL 30 INAUGURATION

The T3 at Tan Son Nhat Airport is one of Vietnam’s most critical transportation infrastructure projects, playing a pivotal role in reducing congestion at T1 and enhancing the capacity for domestic passengers. Currently, construction progress has reached over 99% completion, with more than 3,000 workers and engineers working three shifts daily to ensure timely delivery. Notably, the steel structures supplied and assembled by DaiDung Group have been a key factor in accelerating construction timelines and optimizing the architectural design of the project. The terminal is now in its final phase, aiming for inauguration on April 30, marking the 50th anniversary of the Reunification of Vietnam.

The steel structure system plays a crucial role in the overall architecture and sustainability of the project

With a total investment of nearly VND 11,000 billion, T3 spans 112,500 square meters with one basement and four above-ground floors. Key infrastructure components, such as electrical systems, water supply, air conditioning, baggage handling systems, escalators, and jet bridges, are in their final stages of installation. The terminal is set for trial operations before officially launching on April 30.

One of the major factors behind the rapid construction progress of T3 is the adoption of steel structures. DaiDung Group, Vietnam’s leading steel structure company, is the contractor responsible for supplying and erecting the steel framework for this project. Additionally, DaiDung has also been entrusted with steel structure supply and assembly for other major airport projects, including: T2 – Noi BaiInternational Airport, Long Thanh International Airport, New Phnom Penh International Airport

The steel dome roofing in the main hall not only adds to the architectural aesthetics but also maximizes natural lighting, promoting energy efficiency and enhancing passenger experience. This advanced design solution contributes to making T3 a modern and environmentally friendly facility.

Upon completion, T3 is expected to accommodate 20 million passengers annually, significantly easing congestion at T1 and becoming Vietnam’s largest domestic terminal. This project will enhance passenger experience and boost the operational efficiency of Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Perspective view of T3

The inauguration of T3 on April 30 is not only a significant milestone for Vietnam’s transportation infrastructure but also a major step forward in the modernization of the country’s aviation sector. This project will enhance trade connectivity, drive economic growth, and highlight the capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises, with DaiDung Group playing a crucial role.

With accelerated construction efforts and the dedication of engineers and workers, the T3 is nearing completion. This iconic project will symbolize the dynamic growth of Vietnam’s aviation industry in this new era.
