MANYAR SMELTER
overview
The Manyar Smelter Metallurgical Plant, located in the Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate, is an investment by Freeport-McMoRan, the world's largest molybdenum producer, with a total cost of up to $3 billion. The plant has the capacity to process 2 million tons of copper concentrate annually. Freeport-McMoRan is also a leading copper producer and operates the world's largest gold mine, the Grasberg mine in Papua, Indonesia.
